Mr. Kosher
I grew up in Lanark, Illinois - a small town about 120 miles west of Chicago. I then went to Illinois Wesleyan where I graduated with a BA in Biology. Not sure of what career path to take, I became an assistant manager at Walgreens in Chicago. After determining that I really wanted to teach, I went back to school and graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Masters of Education.
My first job was at Sterling Newman High School where I taught various science classes, coached football and wrestling, and even drove the wrestling bus. I then got a job at Potosi, WI. Potosi is known for having the longest main street in the world. After teaching there for four years, my wife and I moved to Cornell where I have taught ever since. I am in my 36th year of teaching science. Although many things have changed, like technology and methodology, I am still excited to share my knowledge of science. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my wife, two sons, my daughter-in-law, and my two year old granddaughter. I stay active by kayaking, running with my two dogs, and hunting for agates. |
